VØLATIL artisanal perfume

India has the world's oldest living perfume tradition. From the copper stills of Kannauj distilling jasmine into golden attar, to the resin traders of Assam carrying oud through monsoon forests — scent is woven into the soul of this land.

VØLATIL was born here — but refuses to stay in the past. We take these ancient raw materials and break them into something entirely new. Unexpected accords. Unsettling beauty. Fragrances that ask uncomfortable questions.

This is not heritage perfumery. This is what happens when heritage has nothing left to lose.

— The VØLATIL Manifesto
Our Philosophy

India gave the world its first perfumers. The distillers of Kannauj have been working copper stills for over 5,000 years. We grew up inhaling that legacy — and then we chose to detonate it.

VØLATIL is not a homage. It is a provocation. Each fragrance is an argument against the comfortable, the familiar, the forgettable. We combine raw materials that have no business being together — and somehow they speak.

Wear us when you have something to say and no words to say it.

Raw Materials
THE
ELEMENTS
Every ingredient is sourced directly. No intermediaries. No compromises.
🌿
Assam Oud
Wild-harvested agarwood from the forests of Assam. Smoky, animalic, transformative. The backbone of Eastern perfumery.
🪵
Mysore Sandalwood
The world's finest sandalwood. Creamy, warm, meditative. Grown in Karnataka and steam-distilled by hand.
🌸
Sambac Jasmine
Harvested at 3am in Tamil Nadu, when the blooms are most intense. Intoxicating, indolic, relentlessly alive.
🌾
Khus Vetiver
Roots from the Gangetic plains, cold-pressed into an oil that smells like the earth after rain. Grounding. Ancient. Irreplaceable.
🏔️
Kashmiri Saffron
The most expensive spice on earth, grown at 2,000 metres. A rare, metallic warmth found nowhere else in nature.
🌙
Mitti Attar
Distilled from baked earth in Kannauj — the smell of the first monsoon rain on hot Indian soil. Primal memory in molecular form.
🌺
Rajasthani Rose
Damask rose from Pushkar. Five tonnes of petals to yield one kilogram of attar. Dense, jammy, aristocratic.
🌿
Kewra Absolute
From the pandanus flower of Odisha. Fruity, floral, faintly aquatic. A fragrance note found almost nowhere else on earth.
